• Life of a student is an important and dynamic component of an active tertiary education experience.
  • It provides the with an opportunity for students to develop academically, socially and economically.
  • Universities have a responsibility of providing holistic education of their graduates to prepare students for eventual entry into the work force, entrepreneurship and innovations.
  • Many graduates from the IHL in Kenya either fail to find employment for far too long or are under-employed or do jobs not related to their professional training.
  • This is partly attributed to skills mismatch or limited response to the dynamic
  • There is need for strategies towards seamless transition from learning to earning.
  • An effective OCS (set up on 23rd January 2019 by the Ministry of Education)offers great potential to play this role.
  • OCS Objectives/strategies include support on career services, guiding and counseling services, student/industry linkages, apprenticeships, career fairs, recruitments, venture capitals and graduate-tracker services, job interview training.
